Tigresses take centre stage as championship parade reaches BFF office

The victory parade for the Saff championship-winning Bangladesh women's national football team on an open-top bus reached Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) office after taking a tour across the capital.

BFF President Kazi Salauddin greeted the champions with a bouquet of flowers on the second floor of the building after reaching the office at 7:40pm.

The Tigresses reached Dhaka airport at 1:45pm on Wednesday and the parade started a couple of hours later.

From the airport, crossing Kakali Banani and passing in front of Jahangir Gate and the Prime Minister's Office, the bus carrying the team took a left turn from Bijoy Sarani.

After that, the procession crossed Kakrail through Flyover via Tejgaon. The Bangladesh team then travelled from Kakrail to Moghbazar-Fakirapool-Arambagh and is now on their way to Motijheel Shapla square to reach BFF Building.

On both sides of the road and in front there was huge crowd praising and celebrating the return of the champions.

The team on their arrival at Dhaka airport received a warm greeting from Sports Minister Md Zahid Ahsan Russel as well as Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) officials.

The captain of the team, Sabina Khatun, at a press briefing at the airport dedicated the trophy to the 180 million people of Bangladesh, before thanking everyone concerned for the enthusiastic welcome and said the whole team was grateful for it.
