A woman and her son were injured in a gas cylinder blast at the Nabinagar Housing in Dhaka’s Mohammadpur.
The incident was reported from a tin-shed house around 6am on Tuesday, according to media reports.
The injured are Ambia Khatun, 45 and her son Md Kajal, 26. According to Ambia’s son-in-law Nur-e-Alam, the blast occurred when Ambia lighted a match in the kitchen early in the morning.
Kajal got injured when he tried to help his mother, he said. According to Sheikh Hasina Burn Institute emergency doctors, Ambia sustained 50% injuries and is currently undergoing treatment at the ICU.
Her son was released after being treated for minor burns.
