A motorcyclist died after being hit by a truck in the Banasree neighbourhood of Dhaka early on Tuesday.
The deceased is Saiful Sardar, 36.
He was pronounced dead at 2:30am, said Inspector Bacchu Mia, in-charge of DMCH police outpost.
"As he was returning to his home at Demra staff quarters on his bike from duty, the speeding truck hit him, leaving him critically injured," said Sohel, nephew of the deceased.
Saiful was first taken to a local hospital and then to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH), where he eventually succumbed to his injuries, UNB quoted Sohel as saying.
The body has been kept at the DMCH morgue for autopsy, Inspector Bacchu said.
