Dhaka Customs House detained an employee of Qatar Airways with 6.5kg of gold fromHazrat Shahjalal International Airport on Thursday.
The detainee, Tajul Islam, is an airport services agent for Qatar Airways.

Customs Deputy Commissioner (Preventive) Md Sanwarul Kabir said Tajul was captured with the gold bars from the boarding bridge area of the airport.
A total of 56 gold bars, handed over to Tajul by a passenger, were recovered from his possession, he said.
Details about the passenger could not be known immediately.

The detainee would be handed over to the Airport police station after filing a case against him, said the Customs official.
