Moshal Mental Health celebrates second year anniversary

Moshal Mental Health celebrated its second founding anniversary on Monday through a virtual event titled “2 Years of Journey to Light”. 

The event, sponsored by Planetary Health Academia, was broadcast through the organization’s Facebook page at 8pm, said a press release.

Attending event as the guest of honour, Dhaka North City Corporation Mayor Md Atiqul Islam stressed the importance of mental healthcare in building a strong foundation in the country. 

Sakib Bin Rashid hosted the event which was also attended by B M Atiquzzaman, director of Planetary Health Academia.

The event began with a fire show by “Poination”, where a “Moshal” or torch was lit up as a symbol for spreading light to the mental health sector, followed by a speech by the organization's founder Maria Mumu.

Singer and artist Tasfia Fatima performed her newest song “Alo”, a particularly relevant piece that reflects on abuse and mental health. 

To conclude the event, a video depicting Moshal's intentions of bettering the mental health sector globally was played for the attendees. 

Moshal is the first and youngest mental health organization to receive the Diana Award. It is working to break the stigma and debunk myths related to mental health, added the release.
