Lekhak Bhattacharjee, General Secretary of Bangladesh Chhatra League, was injured in factional clashes during the 74th founding anniversary of the organization at Dhaka University (DU) campus.
He was taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH). He was injured as he tried to settle a conflict between two factions of the Chhatra League in front of the Aparajeyo Bangla Sculpture on Tuesday.
The opening ceremony of the Chhatra League's founding anniversary began at around 2pm next to the Aparajeyo Bangla Sculpture.

Both groups began throwing brickbats and chairs at one another.
When Lekhak came down from the stage to put an end to the clashes, he was injured on his head.
After receiving medical treatment at DMCH, he was taken to Dhaka University's Jagannath Hall to take rest.
Around 12 others were also injured during the clashes.
