Newborn baby girl rescued in Keraniganj now at DMCH

Condition of the newborn baby girl rescued on Tuesday night off the road in Ati Bazar area of the capital is stable, doctors said on Wednesday.

She was found wrapped in a piece of cloth next to a restaurant at Ati Bazar Bhawal Khan Bari, Keraniganj.

Locals rescued her and admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital on Wednesday morning.

Keraniganj police station Inspector Kazi Ramjanul Haque confirmed the matter to Dhaka Tribune.

The police officer said that her condition was fine with the help of the doctors at the neonatal unit.

The law enforcers have yet to find her guardian.

Elderly woman found outside DMCH

Police rescued an elderly woman from the DMCH garden gate in unconscious state on Wednesday afternoon.

The identity of the woman, aged around 55, could not confirmed, Shahbagh police Sub-Inspector Md Jununun Hossain said.

He said they found her unconscious lying on the road while on patrol duty. Later she was rushed to the emergency department of the DMCH, on-duty doctors declared her dead at 4pm.

SI Junnun further said that it was initially known that the woman had died due to old age complications. However, the exact cause of her death could be confirmed after receiving the autopsy report.
