An employee of Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery in Dhaka has burnt himself to death at his workplace.
The deceased, Milon, 30, worked as a receptionist at the institute.
Physically-challenged Milon set himself ablaze at a toilet around 1:15am on Saturday, said Dhaka Medical College and Hospital police outpost in-charge Inspector Bachchu Mia.
Later, he was rescued and admitted to the institute's intensive care unit (ICU), the police official added.
Milon, who received over 90% burns, died at the ICU in the morning while undergoing treatment, said Dr Partha Sankar Paul of the institute.
The reason behind the self-immolation could not be known immediately.
