Police have arrested Niaz Morshed, director of Mind Aid Hospital, in connection with the murder of Senior Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Anisul Karim.

Mrittunjoy Dey Sajal, additional deputy commissioner (ADC), Tejgaon Division of the police, said Niaz was arrested from the National Institute of Neurosciences and Hospital area of Dhaka on Tuesday evening.
A total of 11 people have been arrested so far in the incident, he added.
Earlier, police remanded 10 people in a case filed over this murder.
The arrestees are Mind Aid’s Marketing Manager Arif Mahmud Joy, 35, Coordinator Redwan Sabbir, 23, Kitchen Chef Md Masud Ali, 37, Pharmacist Md Tanvir Hasan, 18, Ward Boys Zobayer Hossain, 19, Tanim Molla, 20, Sanjeeb Chowdhury, 20, Ashim Chandra Pal, 24, Liton Ahammad, 18, and Md Saiful Islam Palash, 35.

According to the case statement, Anisul was suffering from mental illness. He was brought to Mind Aid Hospital around noon on Monday. Shortly after being admitted to the hospital, he was beaten to death by staff.
Later, the father of the deceased Faizuddin Ahmed, a freedom fighter, filed a murder case with Adabar police station.
Anisul was appointed as a police officer in BCS 31st batch. He was a student of the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology of Jahangirnagar University. Recently, he was appointed as the assistant commissioner of the traffic department of Barisal Metropolitan Police.
