Police have arrested 16 teenagers, including the mastermind, over the killing of Munna in Dhaka.
Three of the arrestees are Ferdous, 18, Zisan, 19, and Labib, 18. The other thirteen arrestees are aged between 14 and 16.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shah Iftekhar Ahmed of Wari division under Dhaka Metropolitan Police confirmed the matter at a press briefing in Dhaka on Tuesday afternoon.
On August 30, Munna and his cousin, who were riding a motorcycle, were allegedly stopped and attacked by the accused teenagers at Wari’s Lal Chand Mohon Lane in Dhaka over previous conflicts, said the DC.
Munna and his cousin were attacked with a knife and rod, he added.
Following the incident, the two were taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) where doctors declared Munna dead.
Munna’s cousin, Shakil, 18, who was also injured, is undergoing treatment.
Munna’s father Monirul Islam Opu lodged a case with Wari police station on Monday over the incident.
