276 more Bangladeshis leave for Italy

Another batch of Bangladesh nationals has left Bangladesh for Italy on a special flight, in order to join their respective jobs in the European country.

The special flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines, carrying 276 Bangladeshis, took off from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA) in Dhaka for Rome, Italy at around 12:32pm on Monday.

Tahera Khandaker, deputy general manager (PR) of Biman, confirmed the matter to Dhaka Tribune.

“All Bangladeshis who are Italy residents have been sent back there,” she said. “They will soon join their respective jobs in Italy.”

Earlier on June 27, 281 Bangladesh nationals left Dhaka for Italy on another special Biman flight.

So far, 1,372 Bangladesh nationals have returned to Italy on special flights between June 12 and July 6.

Some of them had been left stranded in Bangladesh due to the Covid-19 pandemic, while some had been sent back to Bangladesh in March, when Italy was hit by the worst spell of the outbreak, recording the highest number of coronavirus cases in Europe.
