A total of 157 Nepali students have left Dhaka for Nepal by a special flight,
They had been stranded in the country due to the travel restrictions imposed to control the Covid-19 pandemic.
Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA) Director Group Captain AHM Touhid-ul Ahsan confirmed the matter to Dhaka Tribune on Wednesday.
A special flight of Himalaya Airlines departed from HSIA carrying 157 Nepali students at around 1:40pm, said the airport director.
Till now, a total of 417 Nepal citizens have returned home from Bangladesh in two phases. They had been studying in various educational institutions in Bangladesh.
Earlier, 260 Nepalis left Dhaka on a special flight of Nepal Airlines on June 14.
According to the Nepal Embassy, over 7,000 Nepali students are currently enrolled in different universities for various courses in Bangladesh.
