Issuing a warning to officials of Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC), its Mayor Barrister Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh said negligence in duty will not be tolerated.
He made the statement at the inaugural ceremony of DSCC’s cleaning drive at the Bottola Jheel in Khilgaon under DSCC’s ward number one.
Taposh said: “I will not tolerate any deviation from the work plan or any kind of negligence and inaction in duty as I am eager to relieve the residents of the city of any panic.”
“If any respected citizen of DSCC finds any deviation or fault in the reshuffled tasks of DSCC staff, just let me know. I am assuring you that I will take stern action against these negligence,” he added.
“Mosquito menace, waterlogging, inefficiency in garbage collection, and some other important issues remain unresolved due to the lack of effective coordination among the inter-connected departments of DSCC,” the mayor said.
“People are losing their faith in the DSCC. Thus, I instructed the associated departments to reorganize the work plan,” he stated.
Public Works Secretary Md Shahid Ullah Khandaker, DSCC Chief Executive Officer Shah Md Imdadul Haque, Chief Health Officer Brig Gen Dr Md Sharif Ahmed, Secretary Akramuzzaman, and councillors of ward 1 and 20 were present at the program among others.
