The family of Bangabandhu murder convict Abdul Majed have visited him in jail.
Five members of the family, including Majed’s wife, met him in the Dhaka Central Jail at Keraniganj on Friday, said Senior Jail Superintendent Iqbal Kabir Chowdhury.
Majed’s wife Safia Begum, however, told Dhaka Tribune, she did not go to visit her husband.
Four people, including her two daughters and her brother-in-law, met Majed, according to her.
After spending life as a fugitive for more than 20 years, Majed, a former Bangladesh Army captain who later served in different government positions, was arrested in the early hours of Tuesday in capital Dhaka.
He was produced in the court, which sent him to jail the same day.
Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan has said the execution would happen anytime as the president has turned down Majed’s clemency plea.
