To lessen the hardship of destitute people in Dhaka in these tough times, the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) will distribute food among 2,500 homeless children and poor people everyday.
“We will distribute food among 2,500 destitute people in the areas under 50 police stations in Dhaka from March 29,” a press release quoted DMP commissioner Md Shafiqul Islam as saying on Saturday.
The DMP chief said the food would be handed out till the end of the ongoing general holidays on April 4, reports BSS.
Meanwhile, the DMP has continued spraying antibacterial solutions through water cannons in its eight separate crime divisions in Dhaka.
The first phase of disinfecting Dhaka roads took place from 10am to 12pm, and the second phase from 4pm to 6pm, another press release said.
The DMP launched the program on March 25. The program will continue until further orders.
