The Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) authorities have paid homage to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, marking the Independence Day.
BSMMU authorities paid their respects on Thursday morning at a mural of Bangabandhu set up on B-Block of the university, reported BSS.
BSMMU vice chancellor Professor Kanak Kanti Barua, pro-vice chancellors Prof Dr Shahana Akhter Rahman and Prof Dr Muhammad Rafiqul Alam, treasurer Prof Dr Mohammad Atiqur Rahman, registrar Dr ABM Abdul Mannan and proctor Prof Dr Syed Mozaffar Ahmed were present at the ceremony among others.
They observed a minute of silence as a mark of respect to the memories of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
Speaking on the occasion, Professor Kanak Kanti Barua urged BSMMU teachers, doctors, nurses, and other officials to keep up the fight against the spread of coronavirus.
He also said that steps have been taken to properly equip doctors and medical staff of the university according to the guidelines of the World Health Organization (WHO).
