A businessman is beaten to death by miscreants in Banani area of Dhaka.
The deceased was identified as Md Shejad Khan Hasan aged 45.
After receiving Shejad’s body from Uttara Crescent Hospital, Uttara, yesterday police sent the body to Dhaka Medical College morgue for autopsy.
Confirming the matter, Banani Police’s Sub-Inspector (SI) Mokhlesur Rahman said: “Shejad got into a brawl with some miscreants in-front of Hotel Sweet Dream in Banani area. At one point during the fight, the miscreants left the senseless body of Shajad in front of the hotel.”
“Later, some passerby took Shejad to Uttara Crescent Hospital where the doctor declared him dead,” added the SI.
He also said: “Deceased Shejad have injury marks on his lips, right finger and body. Though the exact cause of death can only be revealed after the autopsy, we are investigating the matter and the case filing procedure is under process.”
Deceased’s second wife Fariya Jahan Dipti said that her husband was an import-export businessman and most of the times her husband would hang out with his close friends Munna and Swapnil. However, she was not sure whether Munna and Swapnil were involved in the murder.
Dipti suspected that her husband was killed due to some business rivalry and wanted justice for her husband’s death.
“Shejad has a daughter who is studying in America currently,” added Dipti.
