The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has said a nor’wester is likely to hit parts of Bangladesh, including Dhaka.
According to a BMD bulletin, rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty or squally wind, is likely to sweep over Dhaka, Khulna, Rangpur, Rajshahi, Sylhet, Mymenshingh, Barisal and Chittagong divisions between Tuesday and Saturday, reports UNB.
Meteorologist Md Aftab Uddin said the nor’wester began in Rajshahi and is currently sweeping over Pabna and may hit Dhaka on Wednesday night.
The pre-monsoon nor’wester is caused by heavy convection for excessive heat, he added.
A trough of westerly low lies over West Bengal and adjoining areas, the Met Office said, adding that seasonal low lies over South Bay.
