PM asks police to gain people’s confidence

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has asked Bangladesh Police personnel to make themselves the "police of people, Saying it is very easy to eliminate any crime by gaining people's confidence and trust.

"The government wants the police to be a pro-people force. I believe you [police] will work keeping this in mind," she said, while inaugurating the five-day long Police Week 2020 at the Parade Ground of Rajarbagh Police Lines in Dhaka on Sunday, reports UNB.

She said the government never treated expenditures for the law-and-order purpose as expense, rather investment towards people's welfare and interests.

"Keeping this in mind, we are taking steps to provide policemen with modern training and equipment so that they can provide better services to the people," she added.
