Crude bomb explodes in front of BNP central office

A crude bomb has gone off in front of BNP’s central office at Nayapaltan in Dhaka.

Confirming the matter, Paltan police station Officer-in-charge Abu Bakr Siddique said: "The incident took place around 12:15pm. Police recovered three more unexploded crude bombs from the footpath in the area.

He said they were trying to identify those involved in the incident reviewing CCTV footage.

There were no reports of any casualty.

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir went to the BNP office around 1:10pm where party leaders are interviewing its aspirants for councillor posts in the two Dhaka city polls.

Law enforcement officials took position in front of the BNP office and its adjoining areas following the incident.

Earlier on Friday, miscreants blasted a crude bomb in front of the BNP office.
