Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen has said the Liberation War Affairs Ministry can take help from the Muktijoddha Sangsad to make the new Razakar list.
The minister made the statement in a program organized by Bangladesh Muktijoddha Sangsad Central Command Council in Dhaka's National Press Club on Sunday.
He said: "The Liberation War Affairs Ministry can include Muktijoddha Sangsad in the committee, created to make the new Razakar list”
"The Muktijoddha Sangsad can collect information and give suggestions to make the new list."
The government has withdrawn the recently published list of Razakars, after it was severely criticized at all quarters for containing the names of 1971 freedom fighters and pro-liberation individuals.
Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Huq also sought for everyone's help.
Foreign minister said: "Nowadays some people are saying that the liberation war was fought and won by the army people. I think it was a Jonojuddha, a war fought by the general people.”
"Farmers, labours, students and mass people fought together and won the war."
"However, there are no streets named after freedom fighters, rather there are streets named after army generals," he added.
In remembrance of the liberation war AK Abdul Momen said: "I never went to the war field but I saw their (freedom fighters) miserable conditions and got inspired by their way of fighting."
There should be no confusion on who had given the declaration of Independence as Bangabandhu had announced it in his March 7 speech, he added
Momen congratulated Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for becoming the president of Awami League for the 9th time and said: "No alternative leader could have developed the country in the way she has done it."
"We will build a hunger and poverty free Sonar Bangla as dreamt by Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, under Sheikh Hasina's leadership," said the foreign minister.
Liberation War Commander Abdul Hai presided the event where freedom fighters demanded the exclusion of their names from the Razakar list, published by the Liberation War Affairs Ministry.
