The Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Bangladesh (ICMAB) has arranged a discussion on sustainability reporting.
The program was arranged at ICMAB training centre in Dhaka on Thursday.
Dr Rubina Sen, senior coordinator of Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) South Asia, and Pallavi Atre, sustainability consultant at GRI were present at the program, a press release said.
Presenting the details about sustainability reporting, they discussed its importance during the interactive discussion session.
After their presentation, there was an interactive question and answer session where the participants discussed on many queries, and shared their opinions with the experts from GRI, it said.
In the welcome address, ICMAB President M Abul Kalam Mazumdar emphasized the importance of GRI for achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by 2030, and building Bangladesh as a developed country by 2041, the press release said.
He mentioned that ICMAB would develop a talent pool through training, with the technical support of GRI, to support the corporate sector of the country in increasing their preparedness to accommodate sustainability reporting with general purpose financial statements, it added.
