The protest was chaired by Vice-Chancellor of CWU, Parveen Hasan.

She said: "Touture, rape and sexual harassment of children and women have become festivities for the perpetrators, and each and everyone in Bangladesh needs to take proper action to prevent such heinous incidents."

She also said that it is terrifying for women and children, who become victims of sexual harassment by their closed ones.

In the human chain, the VC also hoped to build a country free of rape and sexual abuse, with the help of people from all spheres of the society.
