A rickshaw-puller has killed after being hit by a CNG auto-rickshaw in the capital's Jatrabari area.
The deceased is identified as Dulu Miah, 45, of Gokulpur village in Rangpur district.
The accident occurred on Thursday afternoon when Dulu Miah was crossing the road near Rayerbagh foot-over bridge and was hit by a speeding CNG auto-rickshaw, Jatrabari Police Station Sub-Inspector (SI) Mohammad Shaheen Mia said while confirming the matter to Dhaka Tribune.
Dulu Miah was taken to the emergency unit of the Dhaka Medical College Hospital where the on-duty medical officers declared him dead, he added.
Police said the body of Dulu Miah was handed over to his family without performing an autopsy.
Dulu Miah lived in Rayer Bagh area and is survived by two sons and a daughter.
