DMCH burn unit staff protest demanding permanent jobs

Employees of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) burn unit have protested for the third day in demand of permanent jobs.

They protested in front of the office of Dr Samanta Lal Sen, coordinator, National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery, around 11am on Monday.

The protest continued for an hour and ended at 12pm.

President of Temporary Workers Welfare Association and also a burn unit staff, Md Jibon Mia, said: "Since establishment of the burn unit, we have been working here without any pay. In the past, there have been several protests to make our jobs permanent.

"No complaints have worked, so we protested again."

However, the protest was suspended till May 11, and will resume after further notice.
