Fire breaks out at residential building in Dhanmondi

Just hours after two separate fire incidents in Dhaka, another fire broke out at a residential building in the capital’s Dhanmondi area.

The fire service received reports of a fire on the first floor of a building on road 11/A in Dhanmondi, at 8:24pm on Saturday.

Two units were dispatched to the scene, confirmed Mizanur Rahman and official of Mohammadpur Fire Service and Civil Defence station.

"It was quickly put out by building residents before firefighters could step in," he added.

Earlier in the day, a major fire broke out at Gulshan 1 DNCC kitchen market that gutted at least 291 shops and left traders in losses.

A second fire incident was reported at the Delta Life Tower in Gulshan 2. However, it was doused before fire service units reached the spot.

Only two days ago, a deadly fire at Banani’s FR Tower, left 26 people dead and injured 70.
