Airport Armed Police Battalion (APBN) has detained a person in possession of 800 pieces of contraband Yaba at Hazrat Shajalal International Airport.
Farid Ahmed, 33, was detained from domestic terminal area in the airport on Saturday around 2:30pm.
Confirming the matter, APBN’s Additional Superintendent (operations and media) Alamgir Hossain said that Farid came to Dhaka from Cox’s Bazer around 1:45pm. He was detained from outside the domestic terminal on the basis of secret information.
Later, we got 800 pieces yaba from his stomach following an X-ray scanning worth Tk2,40,000, he added.
A case will be file with the Airport police under the Narcotics Control Act.
