A fire, which broke out at a high-rise building of Biswas Builders near Dhaka New Market Friday night, has been doused.
The fire broke out on the 2nd floor of the 22-storey building around 10:50pm, said Md Azad, an operator at the Fire Service and Civil Defense control room.
“On a tip off, seven firefighting units rushed to the spot and doused the fire around 11:58pm. However, no casualty has been reported,” he added.
"The reason behind the fire could not be ascertained immediately," he furthered.
The fire had created panic among the locals in the New Market area, home to one of the largest market places in the city.
