Mamata Banerjee, the chief minister of the Indian state of West Bengal, has expressed her deep shock over the Chawkbazar fire.
In a post on her official Twitter account, she articulated her condolences to the victims.
“We wish the injured a speedy recovery,” she wrote in the tweet.

Till now, at least 70 people have been killed in a massive fire that engulfed several multi-storey buildings at Nanda Kumar Lane in Chawkbazar’s Churihatta area of Old Dhaka Wednesday night.
