Hawkers’ association demands reconstruction of the demolished stalls

Drawing attention of the prime minister, the hawkers’ association, in a press release, pointed that city corporation staffs had demolished a couple of stalls in the name of beautification. Some corrupt city corporation officials have also demolished some of the stalls in the dark night defying the High Court’s stay order regarding this issue. Such indiscriminate demolition has been making livelihood difficult for the people involved in the sales and distribution of newspaper, the press release read. They urged the prime minister to instruct the city corporations to rebuild the stalls at their own expenses.
