Police have recovered grenade like bombs and materials used for making bombs and firearms from Gowalghat lane at Wari in Dhaka, on Saturday.
The police was yet to arrest anyone in connection to the criminal offence, when this report was written around 6pm.
Police initially suspected this to be evidence of a plot to carry out a sabotage operation, in the upcoming victory day or the parliamentary election.
Dhaka Metropolitan Police Wari Division Deputy Commissioner Farid Uddin confirmed the matter, during a press brief on Saturday evening and said that acting on tip-off they conducted the raid in the area on Saturday, and found the explosives from a motor garage and a motor parts shop.
Later, DMP's bomb disposal unit arrived on scene in order to diffuse the bombs and recover the materials, they also observed that it resembled one's made by militant organizations, he added.
