Another case filed against Dr Zafrullah for stealing fish

Yet another case has been filed against Gonoshasthaya Kendra board of trustees’ member Dr Zafrullah Chowdhury, accusing him of stealing fish. 

Confirming the matter to the Dhaka Tribune, Officer-in-Charge (investigation) Inspector Jabed Masud added that a person named Kazi Muhibul filed the case against three people including Zafrullah and a few unnamed others on Wednesday night.

A total of five cases have been filed against Dr Zafrullah, accusing him of illegal land occupation, extortion and theft of fish.

According to case documents, Kazi Muhibul has land adjacent to Gonoshasthaya Kendra, which is owned by Dr Zafrullah Chowdhury. Muhibul has been cultivating fish on his property for years.

The plaintiff alleged that Zafrullah and his people have been trying to extort him, and made attempts to illegally grab his land. Muhibul also complained that Zafrullah and his men stole fish from his property.

On October 21 and 23, two men named Selim Ahammed and Nasir Ahammed filed separate cases against Zafrullah, accusing him of extortion and illegal land occupation.

Another two men, Mohammad Ali and Hasan Imam, filed similar, separate cases with Ashulia police station on October 15 and 19.
