Students withdraw blockade from Uttara

The students protesting on Dhaka – Mymenshingh highway have withdrawn their blockade from the roads.

Earlier on Sunday morning around 11:30, over a thousand students blocked the road at House Building point in Uttara, demanding discipline in the traffic management and for safer roads.

The students withdrew the blockade from the spot around 4pm.

Among them, a group of students launched a procession and started marching towards the airport while the rest freed the main road.

Currently, the vehicular movement has become normal in the highway.

Students have been out on the streets since July 29, demanding safe roads and justice for the two students who were killed in a road accident on Dhaka Airport Road.

Shaheed Ramiz Uddin School and College students Diya Khanam Mim and Abdul Karim Rajib were killed, and several others were injured when a bus of “Jabal-e-Noor Paribahan” ploughed into a group of students on July 29.
