After the death of his child and wife, the man, who sustained burn injuries in a fire incident, has died at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH).
Manik, 35, died at the burn unit of the hospital around 6:30am on Thursday, DMCH police camp Sub-Inspector Bacchu Mia said.
He had sustained 95% burns in a fire that broke out at a building in Dhaka's Mirpur area on Wednesday.
Manik’s seven-month old boy, Tamim, was burnt to death in the fire which started from a lit cigarette butt. Later in the day, Manik's wife Mina, 28, died around 2:15pm while undergoing treatment at the hospital.
Duty officer of Fire Service and Civil Defence central control room, Rashed Shikdar, said the fire broke out on the ground floor of the four-storey building and spread rapidly due to a leak in the gas line.
