DMP: No procession near parliament area from Nov 1-8

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has imposed a ban on all kind of procession near parliament premises and Bangabandhu International Conference Centre (BICC) to avoid unexpected incidents during the 63rd Commonwealth Parliamentary Conference. Carrying firearms, explosives and other weapons have also been prohibited from the areas. The restriction will come into effect between November 1 and November 8, according to a press release of DMP on Sunday. According to DMP Commissioner Asaduzzaman Mia, the ban was slapped under Sections 28 and 29 of Dhaka Metropolitan Police Ordinance 1976. Bangladesh Parliament and Commonwealth Parliamentary Association jointly organised the 63rd Commonwealth Parliamentary Conference in Dhaka this year.
