Road Transport and Bridge Minister Obaidul Quader today said that construction of the much awaited 46.73 kms elevated expressway would be completed in March, 2018.
The work on sub-soil investigation of the elevated expressway has already started, he said while replying to a question from treasury bench member Nazrul Islam Babu in the House, the state-run news agency BSS reported.
The minister said the government took the mega project at a cost of TK 8,940.18 crore to connect the Dhaka airport with the Dhaka-Chittagong highway, aimed at making Dhaka city free from traffic jam.
The elevated expressway would also connect Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport with Kutubkhali on the Dhaka-Chittagong highway via Kuril, Banani, Mohakhali, Tejgaon, Sonargaon Hotel, Palashi, Moghbazar, Kamalapur, he informed the Sangsad.
