Muhith: ADB provides $322million in power sector

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has provided loans to the tune of $322million for two projects in the power sector for the current fiscal year 2013-14.

Finance Minister AMA Muhith Tuesday told the parliament while replying to a question from ruling party lawmaker M Abdul Latif.

Of the loans, he said $310million for Power System Expansion and Efficiency Improvement Investment Programme (Tranche-2) and $12million for SASEC Bangladesh-India Electrical Grid Interconnection Project, reports BSS.

While answering questions, Muhith also said the incumbent government has earned revenue of Taka 10,840.64 crore from Benapole port from January 2009 to January 2014.

Besides, he informed the House that the government earned $119.99million by exporting shrimp in the 2012-13 fiscal years.
