Dhaka Wasa MD visits Gandharbpur Water Treatment Plant project

Md Fazlur Rahman, managing director of Dhaka Wasa, on Saturday inspected the Gandharbpur Water Treatment Plant project, situated at Bishnandi Point in Araihazar upazila of Narayanganj along the Meghna River's west bank.

This project is part of the Dhaka Environmentally Sustainable Water Supply Project, according to a press release.

During the visit, Fazlur was briefed on the main infrastructure of the plant, including the intake point and transmission lines, and reviewed the overall progress.

He expressed optimism that the remaining work would be completed within the scheduled timeline.

Project Director Wahidul Islam Murad provided detailed information on the project.

The project is set to be completed by June 2025, with a goal of supplying 500 million litres of water daily to the capital city.

It is worth mentioning that the government undertook this initiative to ensure a safe water supply for all residents of the capital under an "environment-friendly, sustainable, and people-oriented water management" strategy.
