Police have held former MP and BNP leader Ali Kader's son Kamrul Kader alias Noman along with two others from Poolerhat Bazar in Jessore suburb on Sunday morning.
The other detainees are Rinku Debnath, son of Anil Debnath, of Mikepatti area of the town and Shahjahan Kabir, son of late Yakub Ali, of Baganchra village of Sharsha upazila.
Police seized the jeep and recovered machineries and materials worth about Tk6,20,000 from the detainees.
TSI Rafiqul Islam of Jessore Sadar police said on a tip-off that they were carrying smuggled goods from India.
Police detained them around 6:45am when they reached at Poolerhat bazaar, he added.
