Locals have beaten to death a man hours after he killed his father-in-law and mother-in-law at north Kamranga village of Rampur Union under Chandpur Sadar Upazila.
On finding him hiding in a neighbouring paddy field, locals beat Suman Sheikh to death on the spot around 6pm on Monday evening.
Confirming that, Additional Superintendent of Police of Chandpur Kamrul Islam said: “Angry locals caught him from a paddy field in the area and beat him to death on the spot."
Suman stabbed his father and mother-in-law – Iqbal Hossain Bhulu, 47, and his wife Mamtaz Begum, 38 – in the early hours of Monday following tension over his divorce with the daughter of the deceased, Sharmin Akter Lucky.
According to injured Lucky, she was married to Suman Sheikh five years ago. A few days before they were divorced, Suman Sheikh was allowed to stay at their house on Sunday night as he came.
Killing her parents and injuring his ex-wife by stabbing her, Suman had fled from their house at some point in the night.
