Two people, including a Jubo League activist, have been shot by miscreants in New Market area of the city on Friday night.
The injured Jubo League activist Shaon alias Tenki Shaon and his friend Sayeed were admitted to Khulna Medical College Hospital immediately after the incident.
Sonadanga police station OC Maruf Ahmed said: “A gang of miscreants opened fire aiming Shaon when he was chit-chatting with his friends in front of Baitun Nur Mosque in New Market area around 10pm Friday, leaving the duo bullet wounded.”
The miscreants fled immediately after launching the shooting attack, he said.
Advocate Sardar Anisur Rahman, convener of Jubo League unit of Khulna city, and Moniruzzman Sagor, joint convener of the organisation, demanded immediate arrest and punishment of the criminals.
