Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) in a drive has recovered seven petrol bombs in an abandoned condition on Dhaka-Chittagong Highway in Sitakunda uapzila of Chittagong.
BGB 28 Battalion’s Additional Director Major Tanvir Mahmud said acting on a tip-off a team of BGB conducted drive in Choto Kumira area and recovered the firebomb in abandoned condition from a bush near Eliash Filling Station on the highway early Sunday.
Miscreants might have been amassed the firebombs at the area in a bid to carry out sabotage on the highway, said the high official of BGB.
However, none was arrested in this connection.
Meanwhile, police in overnight drives arrested five BNP-Jamaat men from different parts in Chittagong for their alleged links with subversive activities, said police sources.
