The members of Bangladesh Coast Guard (East Zone) have arrested eight persons along with 5,000 bottles of contraband foreign liquors from Chittagong Port’s Outer Anchorage.
Coast Guard Zonal Commander Captain Shahidul Islam told the Dhaka Tribune acting on a tip-off, they conducted the drive around 2:30am and seized the bottles contraband foreign liquors worth Tk1.20 crore from inside of an engine boat.
“The boat, which came from Myanmar, was trying to enter inside the Outer Anchorage for unloading the liquor bottles.”
“We also arrested the eight crews of the boat,” he added.
