Miscreants have hacked a person to death at Hasondi village of Lakshmipur sadar upazila.
The deceased is Abdul Alim Dulal, son of the late Monsur Ahmed.
ASP Nasim Mia said police primarily suspected the killing might have resulted from a family feud.
He said three persons were detained for interrogation.
Family members alleged that miscreants hacked at Alim when he stepped out of his room around 9pm on Saturday.
Police recovered the body and sent it to the sadar hospital morgue for autopsy.
