A crowd in the capital’s Suhrawardy Udyan yesterday handed over three boys for allegedly hurling crude bombs yesterday.
At around 2pm, two people were injured in a blast, one of the boys and a street vendor, Selim.
The boys – Hossain, Manik and Ripon – all aged around 12, said they were playing inside the Uddyan when the bomb blasted.
Hossain, who sustained injuries on his hand said: “A man threw the bomb and it did not burst, so I thought it was a ball and threw it, but then it blasted.”
Ariful Islam Khan Tushar, a witness, said: “We were playing on the field and suddenly heard the sound of a blast and saw three boys running. One of them had blood on his hand and was crying, and saying they did not do anything.”
Shahbagh police station Officer-in-Charge said no case was filed in this connection yet; however, three of the boys were taken into custody.
