A man has allegedly killed his wife and then hanged her from a ceiling fan of his residence at Chatarpaiya under Senbag upazila in Noakhali.
The deceased is Shipa Biswas, 28, a computer operator of BRAC at Senbagh.
Officer-in-Charge of Senbagh police station Mominul Islam said: “A neighbour of Shipa found her body hanging from the ceiling fan one hour after she had an altercation with her husband Abul Biswash around 2pm on Thursday.”
Being informed, police rushed to the spot and sent the body to Noakhali Abdul Malek Ukil Medical College Hospital for autopsy.
The official said Shipa's husband went on absconding after the incident.
A case was filed with the police station in this connection, the OC said.
