The police have arrested three persons, including a woman, with firearms, crude bombs and petrol bombs from the district's Chauddagram upazila early Wednesday.
The arrestees are Abdul Latif, 20, his mother Manikdhan Bibi, 48, and their neighbour Faruk, 30, of Alkora village.
Officer-in-Charge of Chauddagram police station Uttam Kumar Chakrabarty said: “Acting on a tip-off, a team of police raided Latif’s house around 2:30am and arrested the trio with the firearms and bombs.”
“The law enforcers have recovered three rifles, one light gun, two rounds of bullets, some local weapons, 30 petrol bombs and three crude bombs from the spot.”
Sub-Inspector Ibrahim filed a case against them under the arms act, he added.
