The officials of Bangladesh Navy have seized some 90,000 pieces of yaba tablets worth Tk4.55 crore from an engine-run boat in the outer anchorage of the Bay of Bengal.
Bangladesh Navy Official Commander Shamim Mohammad Khan said: “On suspicion, the officials tried to approach the boat around 1am while patrolling around.”
“Sensing our presence, the people of the boat jumped in the water and managed to swim ashore. Later, we recovered the yaba tablets after searching the boat and seized it.” he said.
