Brahmanbaria temple demolition: Nasinagar OC suspended

The suspension order was issued on Wednesday, Assistant Police Commissioner (Headquarters) Razon Kumar Das told the Bangla Tribune.
OC Md Abdul Kader was also directed to report to the district police line.
Earlier on October 30, a large group of about 3,000 people gathered in Brahmanbaria’s Nasirnagar upazila to stage demonstration protesting a Facebook post that debased the Masjid al-Haram, one of the two holy site of Muslims. The Facebook account is owned by one Rasraj Das of Haripur village of the upazila, who was taken into custody on Saturday.
Before handing him over to the police, the miscreants also vandalised his home and two puja pavilions, and looted valuables.
On October 29 evening, mikes of several mosques of adjacent villages of the upazilas were used to ask the local Muslims to meet at Nasirnagar at 10am.
From the rally, organised by a local radical Islamist groups, several hundred miscreants launched barbaric attacks on the Hindu homesteads and temples, leaving more than 100 people injured, hundreds of families homeless and more than 10 temples vandalised in the nearby villages.
