A salon owner was killed at Ballavpur village in Mujibnagar upazila of the district yesterday. The deceased identified as Paresh Das,40, a resident of Chuadanga district and son-in-law of Kartik Das of Ballabhpur village of the upazila was proprietor of a hair salon.
Police said local people spotted the body of Paresh, with the throat slit, lying in a mango orchard of one Badal Mondal at the village in the morning and informed police. Later, the police recovered the body and sent it to Meherpur General Hospital morgue for an autopsy.
Rabiul Islam, officer-in-charge of Mujibnagar poolice station, said Paresh might have been killed at some time on Saturday night over previous enmity.
A case was filed in this connection.
